retrofunk instrumentals

  • by

In april 2006, the bittersound studios moved from a small space in Venice Beach to a commercial space in Culver City. The new bittersound studio was an upgrade in a lot of ways, not least of which was space for a drumkit, rhodes, pa system, and an expanded guitar setup- plus a dedicated space for a control room. The first recording from the new space is this collection of tracks inspired by old school jazz funk recordings, including the beastie boys, medeski martin and wood, steely dan, and g. love.

Lots of rhodes, wah gtr, and laid-back drums- retrofunk is a light-hearted homage to the timelessness of groove!
