Becoming Extra Teeth was written in the Fall of 2019 for the MIT Laptop Ensemble. It involves placing 3 speakers and a projector inside the piano in an attempt to explore the natural resonance of the instrument with electroacoustic sounds. The title was based on a conversation with composer Steven Takasugi about his piece Sideshow and about how electroacoustic music can push an acoustic instrument past its natural sonic limitations.
